Distractions

Sat down with my bowl of Cheerios this morning and looked out the window just as the sun was coming up. Gorgeous! So, of course, I had to pull out my little pastel box and scribble out this little study.

Unfortunately, my Cheerios got pretty soggy and a few of them started looking more like Fruit Loops so I tossed them and started over. Late for work too. Oh well.....

Leaving the Ranch

Busy, busy weekend but I did manage to sit down for a while Sunday morning and get my painting fix. This one's from a photo I took out at the Pala Ranch a few weeks ago - before the weather got all goopy and cold.

Sunrise on the Watertank

Woke up yesterday to a fabulous sunrise out my kitchen window and after a lot of internal debate (it was 30 degrees outside - cold for Southern California) I decided to haul out my painting kit and dash off this little 6 x 8.

Up the Hill

Boy! Did I want to get out and paint today. But - rain, rain rain. So I went to a photo that I took last week when the weather was clear and worked some more with my limited pastel palette.

Another Desert Study

I had a 45 minute window to do a little painting so I scribbled out this little study from a photo I took on a recent trip to Sedona. I'm still playing around with my mini kit - trying to decide which pastels to take. Decisions, decisions....
